We’ve got crazy festivals galore this weekend, staring with the Cajun Fest at Traders Village. They’ve got zydeco, red beans and rice and of course tons of crawfish. Who on Earth ever thought, “hey, let’s try eating one of them things!” Yuck. There’s also Indyfest, which is movie memoribilia festival and collectibles swap meet. That’s what they’re website says. It’s at the Logos Youth Center in Grand Prairie Saturday where you can meet the guy who played Chewbacca and James Hampton from Teen Wolf! Of courses, there’s the massive Wildflower Festival, where the likes of Everclear, Pat Benatar, Loverboy, America AND Blue Oyster Cult are playing. See, if you had an Iphone, you could just use it to find all of the festivals. That’s why you need to listen for the Freeloader, who will tell you when & where to find the Iphone on our website. You go find it to win. But you’ll still keep using Jacktivities to find stuff to do right? If not, my life would have no meaning.

Are you a fan of David Sedaris or his sister Amy Sedaris? If you have no idea who I’m talking about, you need to get to know these people. He’s a hilarious author and she’s a comedienne-slash-actress. Did the show Strangers with Candy? OK, mayber you know her from the movie Elf? Anyhow, David and Amy wrote a play together called The Book of Liz. It’s about the life of a cheeseball maker, once she leaves her religious sect, which doesn’t SOUND funny, but it is and Theater Arlington is doing it tonight.  And look into winning an Iphone, since Jack is giving away one a day in May. See, if you had an Iphone, you could use it to read reviews of the play AND call to get tickets. Instead of sending smoke signals and scratching notes in the dirt with a stick. That’s not gonna cut it.

Katie Lee Joel will be signing copies of her new cookbook “The Comfort Table” at the Barnes & Noble on Northwest Highway today at 7pm. If you’re asking why should I care Julie? Well, she’s Mrs. Billy Joel. Maybe you still don’t care. That free Reverend Horton heat show is tonight at the House of Blues. It is FREE, but you still have to pick up passes, you can’t just show up and get in. The passes are at Verizon Wireless, so go see which stores are giving them away at hob.com. Or, the Katy Trail 5K and Picnic is today . Which is nice because most of these fundraiser runs are on the weekend. So, this way you can save your Saturday morning for something less active, like recovering from a hangover.

Stars WON last night against the Red Wings 3-1. They are back in Detroit for Game 5 on Saturday. Rangers lost to Seattle 3-4. They’ve got tonight off, but tomorrow they’ll play the Houston Astros at the Ballpark in Arlington. Ooo, and don’t freak out because some helicopters from the Texas Army National Guard will do a fly-over right after the National Anthem, which will be awesome. And then they’re celebrating Armed Forces Day at Saturday’s game, followed by a show by Robert Earl Keen. If you had an Iphone, you could use it to get game details AND buy your tickets.  Kris Krisstoferson is @ Bass Performance Hall tonight. How old IS that man because he is still incredibly sexy. Did you know that Kris was an Army helicopter pilot AND he was a literature professor at West Point. Wow, he just got sexier.  Don’t forget that Loretta Lynn and George Jones are also coming to the Bass Hall soon, so you might want to check out those tickets as well. It’s another Cool Thursdays at the Dallas Arboretum with 4 Way Street. Might be rainy tonight tho’ so check the weather before you go. Ooo, and Next Thursday it’s Mickey Dolenz from the Monkees.

House of Blues has some fun flash-back shows coming up. Boy George will be there on August 21st and Squeeze will be there September 16th. Both of those shows go onsale this Friday at 10am. What’s Boy George doing with his head these days? Remember when he had that weird melting candle thing, on his skull? What was that? And get your free iphone at jackontheweb.com. The festival is at Galatyn Park, right off of 75 and there will also be a kids korner, a petting zoo, a gamers zone, all kinds of art & jewelry to buy and the taste of Texas food garden. By the way, you can buy a 3-day pass for 25 bucks and when you consider all the live music you’ll catch, that’s a pretty sweet deal. And find out more about those free Iphones we’re giving away. Stars are going to give it one more shot against the Red Wings tonight. If it doesn’t happen tonight, it’s not going to happen, and well, if it hasn’t happened yet I don’t know why it would happen tonight. Sorry to lose faith. You can still get tickets to the game at dallasstars.com and get there early for the pregame party in the plaza. And wear your black, to show support. It’s not a mourning thing. If you’re a biker, but not the Hell’s Angel kind, you should look into this Wild Ride Against Cancer Bike Rally this Saturday. They’re raising money for the Lance Armstrong Program at Richardson Regional Medical Center, which treats people even if they can’t pay for it.

Isn’t Alicia Keys amazing? I mean, she’s beautiful, she’s smart, she’s sold millions of record and won almost as many awards. And yet she still seems like she’d be fun to go get waffles with. Well, Alicia is at Nokia tonight & Jordin Sparks is opening for her. Yeah, Jordan had some kind of serious vocal chord issues and had to miss some shows but she will be at this one. Last time I checked there were really good seats left too, like lower level smack in the center of the stage.  And take a minute to find out how to win an Iphone from us. Bob Saget is coming to the House of Blues June 29th. If you know Bob from his Full House Days, don’t buy tickets expecting that kind of show. Bob is dirty. No, strike that. He’s filthy. Go see some of his stuff online before you buy the tickets. They go onsale this Friday at 10am thru TicketMaster. George Lopez is at Nokia for 2 shows this week. Friday and Saturday. And Jeffery Ross is at the Lakewood theater Saturday. Jeffery does all of those comedy central roasts and he was the origin of the funniest line and longest running joke on the Jerry Stiller roast. It involves Bea Arthur and Sandra Bernhardt and man, I wish I could quote it but I would get soooo fired. Go search for it but watch out. It’s so rough it would make Bob Saget blush.
